press command and space key at the same time .. the spot light will highlight top right corner
type disk utility and repair disk permissions for both disk once done repairing see if your problum is solved if not download -----> http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/onyx.html
install it and clean your system its pretty simple once done with everything reboot your system
now start up your mac everything should be fine now ........heres a little extra reboot your mac and while your starting up hold down Command, Option, P, and R youll hear your disk do that spin thing let go and you have reset your P-RAM ...........heres another while your mac is off take out the battery and hold down the little butten till it blinks then put it back in and boot your computer and enjoy a faster mac :)
